An email was sent on behalf of the University of Malta Rector, Prof. Alfred J. vella, advising students who had recently traveled abroad to countries listed by the Ministry of Health are to place themselves under quarantine for 14 days.
This information also explained that the University has put together and Emergency Situation Team. This team shall be issuing advice to students as needed. They are the authorised personnel to give out any information regarding students and COVID-19.
Any students who have returned from any affected countries from the 22nd February are to notify the university via email: registrat@um.edu.mt, so that they may be exempted from lectures.
Other schools such as St Martins have also published similar warnings. The University of Padova have suspended all exams, thesis deadlines and lessons till the 1st of March.
