Deputy Prime Minister, Chris Fearne, announced an urgent conference meeting at 7:45pm to address some very sad news. He stated that a 92-year-old Gozitan woman died due to COVID-19 moments before the conference at the Gozo General Hospital. He continued to say how she had been suffering from many conditions throughout her entire life such as diabetes and kidney disease. Fearne said she was a vulnerable person which is why the authorities insist on the general public taking precautions and abiding to social distancing. This case is the first death due to COVID-19 in Malta so far.
