Ben Bailey is Skyrocketing With His Debut EP to be Released Tomorrow

Posted On September 11, 2020

If you haven’t heard of Ben Bailey, you’re living under a rock. This guy is skyrocketing in Malta’s musical industry. He’s played for Ira Losco, Matthew James, Brooke Borg and formed his own band – Vinyl Paradise – and now he’s starting off his own musical career.

Earlier this week, Bailey released his first single, Candles, along with its official music video on YouTube and TOMORROW, he’s releasing his very own debut EP titled Better Days. And get this – he wrote the lyrics himself, sang and played all the instruments for his songs, produced and mashed it altogether. Need I say anymore?

Bailey stated how he’s “hyper aware of time passing” and Candles is just about that feeling. He continued to say how his upcoming debut EP is about “doing my own thing and carving my own path” since he believes that sometimes one could easily be shunned if they think a bit differently. Basically, Bailey is trying to say that it is O.K. to think differently than the majority’s way. The EP itself is a real means for Bailey to communicate what he is feeling and even being vulnerable since he wants to create music that is honest. What better way to do so than by channeling that through art?

Bailey has been playing music since about the age of 10 and he plays various instruments – its hard to count. Within the years that he had been playing music in Malta’s music industry, people had been calling him up to play with them which was great but he did not a lot of time for himself to play. The only means for Bailey to express his ideas was through Vinyl Paradise and yet this was still a collective. Lockdown earlier this year gave Bailey the chance to have time for himself to focus on his music. Now he’s got a debut EP to prove it.

The aim towards Bailey’s EP is not to change anyone’s mind but simply to encourage people to look inwards and get a taste of oneself. Some experiences in life are not necessarily positive or uplifting therefore Bailey wants to express such feelings like feeling depressed or anxious and not sensationalizing music about happiness and success.
